Inspired by the "brain in a vat" thought experiment, where experiences are simply figments in a disembodied brain, Proxy leaves the repetitious, unexamined world to discover what lies behind the veil of the reality accepted as truth. Dancers become cartographers, creating a stage-wide image of coordinates, waves and lines.
